Big City Dreams

Hallucinating city lights
Stark against the sky
A cornucopia of blazing colours
Hides miseries in the sly.

Smiling happy faces
Contorted minds at work
Somewhere down the city street
Doth the Evil lurk.

The copious flow of spirit
And coruscating eyes of coal
Depravity stares the city down
The desecration of the soul.

The other side of midnight
Unveils the shrouded pain
In trepidation and poverty
Lies the city’s vein.

A catastrophic kaleidoscope
An anarchy that reigns
Horrors of a deprived past
Shapes the city’s stains.

The first light of dawn
That paints the city tower
And all that surrounds me
Is a feigned sense of power.

Yet this is my city
The city that I love
Thus spurned by the Gods
The unseeing eye above.

A Walk To Remember

A tropical sunset,
And sweet smell of rain
Sets afire
A passion insane;
My feet on the soft grass
I walk to the wood
A past left behind,
For glory and for good.
The sunlight streams down
I know not where I go,
But somewhere in the distance
I hear the river flow.

The forest drives me on;
Every breath, every sound
Each small step
To a beauty newly found.
As mysteries unfold,
I perceive new light
Nature is before me
Blinding my sight.
I have seen Her fury,
Now Her love I see
Forgetting all that was
And all what must be.

My eyes are now open,
The dream that never was
But the truth lies before me
That Nature has no flaws…

Stains

‘Coz it just wouldn’t rain
The stains remain,
Dark stains of blood, sweat and pain
Curse this happiness
That I do feign

To see in your face,
That smile again…

‘Coz it just wouldn’t rain
The stains remain…
